How Koher is provided, how you may use it, and what is and is not warranted.
Summary
- The hosted Koher tools are free to use. No accounts, no licences, no fees.
- The code is open source. You may download, run, modify, and redistribute it under the licence on each tool's GitHub repository.
- Koher provides the tools as-is. They are research-grade educational software, not certified clinical or commercial systems.
- Donations are voluntary, non-refundable except in case of error, and are not consideration for service.
- Indian law governs these terms. Disputes go to courts in Ahmedabad.
Who you are agreeing with
These Terms of Service form an agreement between you (the user) and Prayas Abhinav, an individual operating the Koher practice from Ahmedabad, India. There is no legal entity behind Koher.
By using koher.app, the hosted tool demos at *-demo.koher.app, or the open-source codebase, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the tools.
What Koher provides
Koher provides:
- Hosted demonstrations of AI-assisted reflection tools, free of charge, at koher.app and various
*-demo.koher.appsubdomains. - Open-source codebases for these tools, published at github.com/koherarchitecture.
- Written essays, position statements, reading lists, and changelog entries on koher.app.
Hosted demos may go offline at any time without notice. The open-source code remains available regardless. Koher does not guarantee uptime, performance, or continued availability of any hosted service.
How you may use the tools
Hosted demos
You may use the hosted demos for personal, educational, or research purposes. You may use them to evaluate work — your own or your students' — and to incorporate their output into your teaching, research, or practice.
You agree not to:
- Submit content that is illegal, harassing, or designed to harm third parties.
- Attempt to extract, scrape, or systematically harvest tool outputs in ways that interfere with the service.
- Use automated tools to bypass bot protection or rate limits.
- Submit confidential or sensitive personal data of others without their consent.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer the underlying classification models through adversarial probing.
Open-source code
The codebases are released under open-source licences. Three of the existing tools are licensed under the MIT licence; new releases from 2026 onwards are licensed under AGPL-3.0. The licence file in each repository governs that repository.
You may run, modify, and redistribute the code under the terms of its licence. AGPL-3.0 in particular requires that derivative works which you make available over a network publish their source code under AGPL-3.0 as well.
Your content
You retain all rights to the content you submit to a Koher tool. By submitting it, you grant Koher a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to:
- Process the submission to produce the tool's response.
- Log it for the purpose of improving the underlying classification models.
- Include it (in anonymised, aggregated form) in research about how Koher tools are used.
This licence is limited to those purposes. Koher does not claim ownership of your content, does not sell it, and does not share it with third parties for commercial purposes. See the Privacy Policy for details on how submissions are handled.
Donations
Donations through the Support page are voluntary. They help offset hosting and API costs but are not consideration for any service. The hosted tools remain free regardless of whether you donate.
Donations are processed by Razorpay and are non-refundable except where a payment was made in error or where Indian consumer law requires a refund. To request a refund, write to hello@koher.app within seven days of the payment.
Koher is not a registered charity. Donations are not tax-deductible.
Intellectual property
The Koher name, logo, and the written essays, position statements, and changelog entries published on koher.app are the work of Prayas Abhinav. You may quote and link to them with attribution. You may not reproduce them in full without permission. The codebases, as noted above, are governed by their respective open-source licences.
No warranty
Koher's tools are provided "as is" and "as available". They are research-grade educational software. They are not:
- Certified for clinical, diagnostic, or therapeutic use.
- A substitute for professional teaching, mentorship, or human judgement.
- Guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or fit for any particular purpose.
The tools embody Prayas Abhinav's judgement and the current capabilities of the underlying models. They will be wrong sometimes. Use them as one input among many, not as an authority.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Prayas Abhinav and Koher are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the tools or website. Total liability for any direct damages is limited to the amount you have donated to Koher in the twelve months preceding the claim, or ₹1,000, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable Indian law — including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the Indian Contract Act, 1872, and statutory rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. The limitation does not apply to liability for fraud, gross negligence, or wilful misconduct.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Prayas Abhinav and Koher from claims arising out of your misuse of the tools — including submissions you make in violation of these terms or applicable law. This indemnity does not extend to claims arising from Koher's own breach of these terms or applicable law.
Grievance redressal
Complaints relating to your use of Koher, content concerns, or rights under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules, 2021 should be addressed to the Grievance Officer named in the Privacy Policy. The Grievance Officer will acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days.
Changes to the tools or terms
Koher may modify, suspend, or discontinue any hosted tool at any time. Material changes to these terms will be noted in the changelog and reflected by an updated date below. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
Termination
You may stop using Koher at any time by closing the page. Koher may restrict or terminate access for any user who breaches these terms or threatens the integrity of the service. The open-source code remains available regardless.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of India, including the Indian Contract Act, 1872, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules made under it, the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of Koher is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.
Severability and waiver
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. The unenforceable provision will be replaced with one that is enforceable and reflects the original intent as closely as possible. Failure to enforce any provision does not waive the right to enforce it later.
For the companion document, see Privacy Policy. The Grievance Officer is named there.
